It was Janice's birthday. Her 25th birthday! She invited her best friends: Joan, Jeaneth and Jenny at their home in Comoxial. Only them were invited to celebrate her birthday. Simple but a happy one because it is just a reunion for them anyways.
After the party the girls went shopping at the mall. Sure does their mall is bigger than the ones in AppleGate.
Jenny: Oh my God! I just couldn't believe we're all be together and this time we're shopping again.
Jeaneth: I know. Look at us now, we're not girls anymore. We're getting old just like everybody else. (Laughter followed).
Janice: I'm still young at 25! If you feel old then you'll feel old.
Joan: Hmmm...meow! hahahahha!
The ladies visit the Victoria's Secret boutique shop. Everything there is awesomely fantastic. every clothing and lingeries are exquisitely elegant. But shocking! The price of the items are shocking too.
Jenny: Know what girls? The underwears I bought from this shop can last up to ten years. Durability in stitches and the quality is superb.
Janice: Wow! Are you getting to be a saleswoman or something?
Jenny: Not really! I'm just telling the truth.
Joan: I preferred hanes or Fruit of the Loom but if you're the one selling it to us I might buy a dozen pairs of lingeries, under wears and bathing suit (Smiling at what she said)
The girls bought those gorgeous brassieres made of lace and some satin and silk chemisse and the latest swimming suits available in the shop.
The sales clerk was happy to serve the four gorgeous ladies with their shopping needs. She thanked and asked the ladies its their pleasure to serve them and they are always welcome there. The sales clerk also gave them the catalogue just in case they want to order through their phone line.
After the impulse shopping spree they went to see the movie "Changeling" of Angelina Jolie. The girls were an avid fan of Angelina. They think she is an amazing actress and should have won the award instead. Joan thought she's better when the movie is in action not drama.
They found the movie a bit disturbing. A sensitive movie when you can no longer believe in some people especially the authority and bureaucracy. Compelling scenes of drama and suspense.

MEMOIRS OF FRIENDSHIP - Chapter One
IT was after graduation from Grade School when four best friends namely: Jeaneth, Janice, Joan and Jenny realized that it would be exciting if four of them would enroll in the same school located fifteen minutes walking distance from their homes.
Not only these four girls are close friends somehow they have some unique attributes and character that are purely fascinating and enticing. No they are not sisters. They are not siblings of one big family. It's just that they are childhood friends and they live closely together in a sub-urban subdivision named AppleGate. They all belong to a Middle Class family.
How these girls get along well together is quite impressive. Do you know why?It is not because their names start with letter J.
The subdivision called AppleGate is built with a very distinguished concept. An architectural design made through the artistic and creative idea of Joan's father named Mr. Joseph Richter.
Joseph Richter is an architect by occupation. He is married to Anna Richter, a public school teacher.
The Richter family is closely related with the rest of the residents of the AppleGate by means of affiliation. Community inter action or integrated system likened to a cooperative runs inside the subdivision.
The subdivision has a unique design style similar to the famous "crop circle" in England. Rows of houses are built around the main or center plaza. The center integral part of the subdivision is where the members and officers of the AppleGate have their monthly meeting, party, and other community functions. naming them would mean occupying much space. The small community of 35 families (with 3 bedroom house with private yard and patio) have their own private swimming pool, gym, and a mini golf course. Quite splendid! remarkably sense of grandeur in appearance.
Now let's go back to the 4 important characters in the story: Janice, Jeaneth, Joan and Jenny sipping their pink lemonades, pop, burger and fries at Wendy's, when Jeaneth opened up a topic.
Jeaneth: You know what girls? My parents would like to send me to La Concordia High School.
Jenny: Oh really? Good for you. I don't know if I could enroll in private school when there is public school that offers the same curriculum.
Joan: I like Concordia. Isn't that the school exclusively for girls only? Where the instructors are all nuns?
Jeaneth: Yes it is. That's why.
Janice: I don't know where I would go. It's up to my parents to decide. It's them who will shoulder the tuition fee if I would be in private school.
Joan: Well, I hope you will not end up like a nun Jeaneth.
And they all chuckled and laughed mischievously.
After that afternoon snack the four girls went to the moviehouse nearby (also in the same mall where the fastfood bar counter is). They bought 4 tickets of the movie. Seventy two people in a line up. Maybe the movie is good. It was a comedy picture with few inserts of drama. The movie is tailored for the youth of today.
The theater opens up with short advertisement like if you want to purchase pop, candies, po corn or any other snacks at the concession located at the lobby of the cinema. Then trailer of movies coming soon to that theater were played. The loud sensurround sound filled the air especially when the movie trailer happens to be an action, suspense thriller. After three new movies flashed on the screen the main movie comes out and the girls kept their mouth shut and opened their eyes as wide as they want to focus their attention on that movie about the "Pink Ladies."
Two hours had passed. The four girls were teary eyed. Joan cried so hard and still sobbing outside the cinema.
"It was a very sensitive movie. I first thought it was a comedy." Joan could not help but uttered she was ripped of her 8 bucks.
Jenny, Janice and Jeaneth burst out with laughter until there were tears on their eyes.
