The Second Day of School: Hectic Schedule

The second day of school was very hectic for the girls and their classmates. Although they were on the "Designer's Program" or the so called Model program they still have to follow strict guidelines from their adviser. Miss Kraft arranged their seats by having them seated in alphabetical order meaning those bearing family names that start with letters A to E should sit at the front row then those with family names that starts with T to Z will be seated at the last row. However, students with vision problem like astigmatism, farsighted, nearsighted, double vision or myopia have priorities to be seated where they pleased or favorable to their handicap problem or disability.

Of these 50 students: Twenty students came from AppleGate Elementary School, fifteen students from another school, Ten from the main city, and five from other countries. Five students from countries: Philippines (2), Brazil (1), Korea (1) and Japan (1).

The fifty students were given the orientation that they need as a Freshman. Their adviser have lessons in English and Math (Algebra). They have other teachers in Science (Biology), Social Studies, PE (Physical Education: Volleyball, Basketball, Swimming) and then Home Economics (Sewing, Crafts, Cooking and Baking).

The teachers are required to come to the class instead of the students roaming around the hallway finding their teachers and their room. This make their scheduled subject come up to terms and minimize noise and because time is important. No time should be wasted in a matter of one hour that is dedicated for learning instead of roaming around without a proper goal.

One of the student named Leopold asked Miss Kraft if she could announce the result of the quizz they have the other day.

Miss Kraft: Oh darn! I almost forgot. (Miss Kraft opened her desk drawer and got the fifty sheets of paper already been checked). She announced the result to the class with their names and their score.

The students felt uneasy. They were excited to hear their score but at the same time afraid that they will have to listen to who's got the highest and lowest score. Having the highest score is favorable but the lower or the lowest score is quite embarrasing.

Miss Kraft knew how they felt that she only announced the names of student with the highest score, the top 10 instead of mentioning those names with lower scores.

Arnel Sacramento - 93%
Leopold Ruiz - 92%
Janice Wallberg - 92%
Joan Richter - 90 %
Jenny Garfield - 89%

The teacher kept on calling the names of the students but Jenny felt so bad that her name was mentioned having 89%. That kind of score is not to her liking. She despised it. She's esxpecting a higher grade.

Eleven - The Day After

The two women returned to the tavern. After dinner Mateelda went upstairs, rest for a while at the living room together with Vivianne. After a glass of champagne, only then that Mateelda felt that she needs to retire to her bedroom. While Vivianne decided to stay at the sala (living room) and read some books taken from her green room (mini library). As time passed by V ivianne felt dizzy and went to her room. She turned on her lampshade and continue reading.

She was reading page 24 of the fantasy-adventure novel about Merlin. It was past 11 pm close to midnight when her eyes totally closed. In a state of unconsciousness she woke up that she's on top of the tower.

The tower is a part of a medieval castle. The setting: 16th Century in Europe. A gray big owl keeps flying around Vivianne and suddenly swooped down abruptly beside her. The owl opened its mouth wanting to talk. The owl talked but Vivianne cannot hear what the gray owl is saying. She lifted the owl and held it on her palm. Now that the owl is near her she saw a tiny paper scrolled on its claw. The owl was talking to her in a very strange language. Vivianne took the scroll from its claw. When she unscrolled the paper..inside it was a symbol Omega and its reverse symbol.

As soon as the paper was unscrolled the gray owl flew away.

Vivianne woke up breathing hardly unable to talk. She was speechless for a while. She hurriedly went to the washroom and got water from the tap and drink from it.

Vivianne didn't tell the mysterious dream to anybody not even to Mateelda. It's only a dream and dreams are sometimes memories that happened in the past, prophetic or non-prophetic or just about nothing and there's really nothing to worry about.

The hiring starts today. Hiring, recruiting, training schedule will progress in few days depends on the time limit allocated for the interview. Almost 100 applicants applied. Mostly from the town of Roosevelt. Never thought there are too many unemployed in this town of Roosevelt. Three applicants from city of Cretest.

Applicants have submitted their comprehensive resumes with their photographs (2"X 2") on the right side of their application forms. Reviewed those 103 application-resume forms. I had it down to 20 only. Those 20 applicants were chosen based on their credentials, experience then I also allowed them to write some references if whatever they have written in the forms have credibility. Their sponsors or references were called for some inquiries.

I scheduled a test: IQ Test, Math, English and Foodsafe certificate - a requirement. Serve It Right certification is also a must but not necessary. All these procedures done in one day. After all test papers were checked, an interview followed. One by one the twenty applicants were interviewed by me (Vivianne) and Mateelda.

The result: Only 11 out of 20 passed the test. I explained to the nine people that they also passed the test although the eleven people are what we are looking for at the moment. I assured the nine applicants that they were considered on a "waiting list." Meaning they can be called anytime once the 11 workers have their day off, for ER, or holidays. The 9 would be workers felt a sign of relief.
