Part One - The Search (LA TAVERNA)

ONE hot mid-summer afternoon after a long breezy drive all the way from the city of Cretest, my best friend and I spotted a cozy tavern along the busy port of entry, overlooking the ocean front. The view is breath taking. I love it.

"There! That's it! That's what I want telling- yelling my best friend about what I've caught my eyes. I was yelling as if she cannot hear me.

"Is that the one? Are you sure? she asked me twice.

"Of course that's the one I've seen in the classified ads. I even googled the info from its website. Besides the address is what is posted at the door." Yeah the address is correct. This is what we are looking for then.

This small town of 15,000, small population compared to other cities and towns that I know and visited in the past. Quite small in land area but this humble town is famous for tourists and people from different walks of life.

I like the atmosphere in this old town. Funky town. The energetic air that seems so transparent as I walked down that cobblestone sidewalk. As I gazed to the horizon the emerald color water from the ocean keeps splashing back and forth producing rhythmic dancing waves as it touched the sandy white beach and big brown rocks along the shore.

Having sort of nostalgia when my best friend told me let us get in to the tavern. We have to inquire right away before somebody purchase that tavern. Oh what a tavern on the square if that happens. Hurriedly we get in to the main entrance door.

The door is amazing! It was made of stained glass. Goodness I first thought it was an entrance to a small church or a place of worship. It turned out the owner of the tavern loves stained glass and intricate bits and pieces of artworks because it also showed her love for tiffany lamps.

Not only the door and lamps that I was attracted to but the interior design of the tavern is quite unconventional and contemporary. Each corner of the cafe, bar and restaurant is adorned with palm trees, fern and beautiful colorful floral. Mind you they are all fresh. They are real not fake or artificial. I touched them one by one just to make sure.

The owner showed us the whole interior part of the place. The exterior part of this small building is already impressive what more inside? That I need to find out.

"Be careful now. Don't be fooled by the outer appearance. You have to seek and search for flaws inside. You don't judge the book by its cover. You have to find out also what's inside," my best friend advising me non-stop.

"I know that." I quipped trying to breathe fresh air.

The restaurant has a sky-lite at the middle making the place favorable and economically environmentally friendly. There are so many features in that place that never cease to intrigue me. Yeah those extra features are sort of great for people who loves studying symbiology or kryptology. Having a great time eating and at the same time reading what's featured on their wall. Fascinating. I couldn't help but grin from ear to ear.

If its good outside it could be great inside. Probably. Who knows? It should be like that. Unless if you found something fakey before. Like you bought and paid for something you think that is worth of gold but actually worthless. Something foolish and just giving you nothing but allergy. Yes that's what fake jewelries are they only provide allergic reactions.

The owner keeps on showing us the other parts of the restaurant. The washroom is separate from female and male which is a good thing. Unlike other places that I know. Their hallway is not too narrow nor too wide. The carpet is navy blue which I think I have to change in the course of time. I would like to have green carpet. Why? The motiff would be the great outdoors, great for golfing. Aha! What an advance sentimental vision when I haven't seen the kitchen yet. Yes, the kitchen is the most important part of the restaurant. Don't you think?

The tavern-restaurant is fabulously built in a friendly shopaholic site of bazaars and small cafe and bars. Lovely. The small building has been there for over five years. The only reason why the owner is selling it is because they want to move to sub-urban city where her kids can continue their graduate studies. The fast -paced setting of urban life is what they aspire now. She mentioned about her husband once but unable to recall the details.

This tavern-restaurant 's wall painting is strikingly colored yellow. Striking yellow! I almost faint. It shocked my vision and my delicate brain waves into oblivion. I know that's exaggeration.

The place has ten solid wood tables and ample amount of arrowback solid pine wood chairs with padded seats. The bar area has variety of popular liquor and coolers on its fridge-cabinet. The drinking glass were arranged in proper order as what the bartender used to do keeping everything on his side neat and tidy. The bar has palm beach bar stools made of rattan. The style design likened to that of open weave back with padded seats also. Yes you can knock at the bar table to find out if its hard solid wood. You can order tequila if you want after all it is licensed. The question is do you have license to drink? They followed guidelines. Strictly, minors are not allowed to drink alcoholic beverage.
