TIME passed us by so fast, so quickly. We continued the long driving. Suffocating at times. We stopped for an hour gazing at the wide open valley at Cache Creek and spent an enjoyable horseback riding. Biking and hiking. Breathtaking view. The island have the same view almost the same as in the Black Creek area. Roasted a bag of marshmallow and packages of hotdogs and hot spicy italian sausages. Softee ice cream from DQ and what else to keep us cheering for good cheers.
Couple of hours on the highway, we saw group of locals and tourists camped near the intersection-junction. Thousands of them watching open-air volleyball and soccer on the field's plaza. Hundreds following the crowd of golfers on the green acre horizon. Good for them. They are trying to avail of the sunshine that seems to peek-a-boo from the cirrhus clouds.
Had enough time to take a look at Whistler. What Whistler Mountain looks like at summertime. We had an ample time snapping pictures and video taking of the place. It could be exciting if we would all be here in 2010.
"What do you think Mateelda?" as I asked her with all earnestly profound enthusiasm.
"Why not?" It could be amazingly fantastic!
While on board the BC Ferry going back to the City of Cretest I could already envision what tomorrow will bring. The next following days and years!
As I gazed through the deep blue waters through the vastness....the wide clear blue sky with the hangin' suspended cloud in mid air. As my eyes searched over the everglades, the evergreens this island deserved a second chance!
Hopefully our fervent prayers, joyful wishes are enough to rekindle the angelic spirit we have for each other.
For better or for worse
For ever and ever..
May our dreams, our greatest endeavour
Once dreamed by our forefathers, our founding fathers
Let us > all of us lead us to the Promise Land.
Mateelda and Vivianne looked at each other. Loud deep laughter followed instantly hitting the airwaves. Tossing the ferry up and down the wavy waves.
The great spin by the spinners is once again
LEGENDARY!

Twenty One - Along Came A Butterfly
After almost three hours of travel from where we had a picnic we decided to stop by at the nearest gasoline station to fill up the Van and the Winnebago's gas tank. What can I say? The price of gasoline is tremendously expensive. Unbelievable! I almost faint in disbelief. Although I cannot show my facial expression to the rest of the crews. I don't like disappointing their vacation. Their holiday vacation! For some of them this long driving experience is one of a kind and it just happened to them just now. I mean it's their first experience of being in a long journey in the main interior of BC as in being away from the island.
As our tour convoy progressed to the next highway up along two tunnels passing the Fraser valley and the canyon trails even down to the Hells Gate where there is a very narrow steep road ahead. We had our sight-seeing for a while then moved on to the next lane. On the next intersection a middle aged woman stopped us with a small billboard sign asking for help. Their car had a flat tire and they don't have an extra tire to replace it. Good that we have a "Fix It Kit" and let them borrow so that they can fix it or hand them the extra tire we had in the compartment. The couple extended their heartfelt gratitude for the extra tire that we had. The lady said she was having a headache too because they were there stranded for sometime and nobody's helping her. So I offered if she wants tylenol or advil capsule? The lady smiled and took the pain reliever medication.
On the road again and up to the place called Butterfly World. As usual more souvenir photos followed. Tee shirts with beautiful stunning designs adorned the souvenir shop. Lots of postcards and framed pictures of butterfly and other bugs on the wall.
We had a visit to their garden full of flora, shrubs and trees. The garden is covered with a huge net so that the fluterring, dancing creatures in multitude species of butterfly can't get away from outside the net.
All the girls bought t-shirts which are made of 100 % cotton. Some of them bought post cards. I bought a butterfly placed inside the globe shaped glass. It was absolutely beautiful! Athena, Mara, Katy and Claire bought set of stationary (pads and envelope with dainty embossed designs of butterflies). Imee and Amber bought mugs and pens with logo.
We're all inside the Butterfly shop unknowingly about the time. We left the shop before it closed down for the night as we're all fascinated with the creatures flying around us. Hundred thousands of them. Caterpillars crawling on the stem unto the leaves. The pupa and the chrysalis. The stages of the butterfly from being an egg to a blossoming butterfly as it emerges from its cocoon....
Suddenly the girls noticed Mattelda's face turning awfully glittery in discoloration..

Twenty - Highway Humor
Mateelda returned to the Van mumbling incoherently. Imee asked her what's wrong with her and she snarled back.
"I'm just asking maybe I could help." Imee said in a pleasing voice trying to befriend her. She knew that Mateelda has a temper and being close to her is next to impossible. Although she tried once when they were on the same shift at the tavern.
In the Van were Mateelda, Jonathan, Amber, Justin, Mara and Imee and Vivianne. The rest of the crews were in the Winnebago 1 and 2.
I think the weather is too hot in that area that made them in such a bad mood. Sometimes the scorching heat of the sun can alter the moods of every individual. The same reason that there is mood disorder or sadness in the form of melancholia when the weather is too cold. Weather has a mean way of giving sudden outburst of psychological and emotional upheaval if the person in question is experiencing the symptoms. For others no effect of change in climate would harm or inflict them. When they have cheery disposition or otherwise naturally born geeky and nerdy no severe weather condition can hamper their goals.
Mateelda was quiet. Almost everyone are. Then suddenly Jonathan breaks the ice. He introduced his knowledge on riddles and jokes. As we hit the highway we are all enjoying, listening to his funny lines of dry humor.
He asked us with all these questions:
"Why did the underwear feel so low?"
" Because it's full of crap?" Justin quickly answered him. Everyone laughed.
" Because they just bottomed out!"
Then he asked some more questions. "What do you call when the lining of a dress gets tangled?"
Nobody knows so Jonathan answered it and said with a smile "A slip-knot!"
"What kind of shorts do big cats wear?"
Mara: Short pants
Jonathan: No. It's panther pants!
Jonathan: How did the sheep feel about the crazy farmer who took all their wool for underwear?
Mara: Baa Baa hum bug!
Jonathan: They thought it was shear madness!
Jonathan: Knock, knock who's there?
Justin: Owen
Jonathan: Owen who?
Justin: I owen 10 pairs of boxer shorts!
What did the reader think of the boxer shorts jokes?
Justin: They wore him out!
Jonathan, Justin and Mara received loud applause from us. Well, they are funny for the time being. Five minutes later they were quiet. When I looked back everyone's asleep. Jonathan was already snoring and sleeping like a log. While the rest of them sleeping like angels.

Nineteen - The Conflict Of Interest
Thirty five minutes later... Along the highway, we passed by two brawny guys with their thumbs up. They were hitch hiking. What the hell! They were hitch hiking beside a big sign that says "NO HITCH- HIKING ALLOWED."
"So why are they hitch hiking there when it's not allowed?" Claire asked innocently.
" You know why?" Mateelda asked her.
" I don't know why." Claire replied.
"Because they cannot read the sign that's why." I answered instead of Mateelda.
We all laughed and giggled non-stop. Then we turned on the stereo and played Rihanna's song "Disturbia."
I grabbed my cellphone and phoned Mr. Loren to find out if he's done with the pressure washing.
Vivianne: Hello Mr. Loren. Good morning!
Mr. Loren: Good morning!
Vivianne: How's everything there? Are you done with the work there at the tavern?
Mr. Lorne: We're finished with the pressure washing and we started painting the exterior part of the house and tavern yesterday. It's good and clean as a whistle by the time you arrived home. Okay?
Vivianne: Wow! Thank you. Bye.
Okay. Everything's doing fine so where is the best place we can go at this point of time? We have two more days to follow through. The girls have the map uncovered from the back of the seat.
Katy suggested we can drop by at the lake. Too many beautiful lake in the interior part of British Columbia. We have canoes and a raft so we might as well use them.
Our group stopped by at the Bowron Lake for a while but then we settled to see the Williams Lake instead. Right there at the lake we saw an old man in loin cloth at the shore. He went swimming and fishing. He glanced at our group and smiled. He didn't say anything. Just the smile is good enough? Hmm....mysterious huh.
The boys pulled out their canoes from the compartment. Their fishing rods and gears ready for their fishing expedition. The girls have the BBQ grill ready for barbecue. It's getting hot and a bit windy at the shore. The weather and the scenery is stunning. Video and picture taking while we're having fun under the sun. Mateelda spread her blanket on the sandy shore for her sunbathing or suntanning ritual.
It was 2:30 pm when the guys arrived from their boating and fishing. They caught at least one dozen medium sized and six big trouts. Fortunately! Two guys would rather stay and continued fishing. Mateelda raised her voice and started acting furiously. Her face red from suntanning. She was grouchy all of a sudden.
"You can stay here and we'll go ahead." With her maddening voice of superiority our group moved our stuff back to the winnebago. Mateelda continued to bark at the boys. Later those with coolers head pacify the petty quarrel they had.

Eighteen - The Tour Continues
More walking, browsing, shopping and following the designated Tour Guide. We all went inside the Barkerville Museum and viewed slides of pictures from long time ago scenario while the Tour Guide narrated the past events, the history of the Village. Astonishing stories of striking it rich. The Gold Rush is what its famous for. It is the Gold Rush that makes the Village known for many years. Barkerville is truly outstanding and up to now the best historic site and popular attraction in British Columbia.
It was such a long, long day for us that we went back to our vehicle after sunset. Relly suggested we'll have pizza instead delivered to our place. That's our supper. Considering we had a big lunch before so pizza is good enough.
All the men went to stay in the Winnebago One and all the women stayed at Winnebago Two except Amber and Jonathan who stayed at the van for the night.
Mateelda and I were having hot tea, the girls were watching a DVD when suddenly we heard a stange commotion outside.
"What is that?" The sound is so scary! We all rushed to the windows to find it out. Outside was dark and foggy we can't see anything.
Loud freaking noise can be heard and suddenly a mighty howling sound filled the air. Then loud screaming followed. I think I had goosebumps all over and the girls started screaming too. We're all frightened. We all hurriedly stayed in the corner of the Winnebago. We're all alert and prepared to whatever will happen in that moment.
Athena phoned Justin in the next Winnebago 2 to find out what's happening.
Justin: Hello.
Athena: Justin do you know what's goin' outside?
Justin: Oh, that howling sound?
Athena: Yeah. It was scary!
Justin: I think that's what you call bunch of wolves.
Athena: What?! Are there wolves in here? In this place?
Justin: Not that I know of. But who will howl like that? But wolves right?
Athena: Ah, whatever!
The guys were laughing in the background. One said something like it's just a boxing game between the wolves.
Athena off her cellphone and told us that there's nothing to worry about.
But then the howling sound is followed by loud barking of dogs. The sound becomes louder and louder almost made us deaf.
I advised the girls to cover their ears with their pillows and go to sleep. We have so much to fear about but we all sleep that night. At least we tried to.
The next morning which is our 3rd day on tour. We had pancake with butter and maple syrup and then cup of hot coffee. While the boys prepared sausage, hashbrowns, and sunshine eggs and cup of coffee. After breakfast we all get ready for another day of vacation-tour. Back on the road again.
