While Lolo Apo continued his storytelling knowledge and power influencing so many young kids in the village , life continues to flourish in another island thousand miles away from them. In another island, an ultra modern progressive city was built, it was named City of Luxor in Texas. Actually the site was originally the world famous Guadalupe Peak.
Humidity is high. The weather is unconditionally extremely suffocating that almost everyone in the Townhouse Villa fell asleep. They were all in deep sleep. When Marie DuPawn woke up, her room mates are gone and nowhere to be seen. Martha Sybill left a note that she is going to pick up her fiancee at the airport. While the two coeds: Theresa and Olivia went back home for their summer vacation. All the while Olivia will spend few weeks of summertime holiday with her conservative family in Canada and then have to go to Tokyo, Japan for a student exchange program.
Townhouse Villa is a newly built 3 story- building with 40 units to boast for. Fortunately Marie was able to purchase the upper part of the building all to herself. The 3rd floor has all the special amenities: 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms wide living room, big kitchen, and a family room. Marie lives by herself but she decided to have the three rooms rented to those 3 room mates: Martha, Olivia, and Theresa. They were all background checked first before they were accepted in the Villa.
Marie DuPawn works as a graphic artist for Drake Ad Venture, she's only 25 years old but very smart and a visionary. She works too hard and because of this she is gifted with so many privileges from her place of work. Marie is a conservative, workaholic that she never seemed to enjoy life's greatest pleasure. She is timid and shy. She worked and worked, her venue is always from the office to their house or house to the church.
Marie is a devout Catholic. She goes to church every Sunday morning, attends novena and usually joins the pilgrimage. The catholic church is just one mile away from their Villa. One time she attended the procession with the other parishioners at Saint Lukes. The prayer vigil started at about 5 PM. So after work she managed to get in through the queue of the devotees, join the line up and have her white candle ready with lights on. There are at least 10, 000 of them in the parade. carousel of statues of many patron saints and then the Holy Family statue was at the big carrier being carried with robust men and women of good standing and character. The carriage is filled with different kind of flowers: roses, sampaguita, rosal, ylang-ylang, camelia, and magnolia. The sweet scented smell made few children blushed and affected with allergies. Anyway the procession continued. The high priest had his incense smoking and the air filled with its scent while he swing the incense lamplike metal holder back and forth so that everyone feels and touch the spirit through mind boggling rituals. The priest chanted and pray the latinized version of the hymn intended for the forgiveness of sins. The procession lasted for 6 hours reaching so many blocks and intersection within the city. After the long parade the parishioners continued the vigil and parade back to the church while Marie had enough walking, her shoes almost about to give up, she went straight at home and were then welcomed by her two loyal friends , Manix and Remix her two doberman waiting for her return.
