Part 10 - One Day At A Time

"Let's go!" telling Mateelda that we have to go now. Mateelda had the key to the ignition and started our car and we zoomed off out from Meadowbrook.

Then while we're half way to the tavern I 've changed my mind and I blurtly said to Mateelda that we have to find the Home for the Aged. Mateelda asked me why. Yeah, women are fickleminded you know.

"Well, don't you think the old man we met and bumped into the first day we were here in Roosevelt is somekind mysterious?" I'd like to see him again if he is really booked in that "Shelter."

Mateelda just shook his head however with all eagerness followed my command. We had a map of the town and we also have a phone book. We didn't phone but we arrived at the Home he mentioned before.

The Home for the Aged is built like a townhouse complex with a patio. The landscaping is well maintained with many medium sized cypress and birch trees. Some ornamental gladiolas at each front door. Not bad as Me and Mateelda exclaimed.

Vivianne opened the vehicle's trunk and got the twelve geese and brought them inside. They were approached by the caregiver in her uniformed attire at the main lobby. We asked the whereabout of the old man. Through our description the lady caregiver knew whom we are looking for. She ushered us to the old man who happened to be named Mr. Brown

Mr. Brown was smiling when he recognized us. He looked surprise. Who wont be? I was glad that his memory is still intact. Mateelda and I gave the 12 birds to him and told him he can do anything with those birds. Whatever he wants. The caregiver heard what he said and asked if she can clean those dozen birds and dressed them so that they can have them for supper. Yeah supper for the whole old people in the complex.

Mateelda and Vivianne bid adieu to Mr. Brown and the caregiver then went back to the tavern. More work to do and to accomplish. Too bad it's one day at a time.
