NOTE: Definetely my first try of writing fiction. The story revolves around two best friends named Vivianne and Mateelda. Their new adventure away from the sub-urban city to the rural area with rural folks and the others will thrill your senses.
CONTINUATION:
Mateelda was about to have a seat at one of the rattan bar stool when the owner named Olga told us to follow her to the kitchen.
At the kitchen: The space is fairly good enough . They have solid wood oak kitchen cabinets and cupboards for pots , pans, and bowls. The wall is painted mint green color which offers a bright setting for everyone to see what they are doing. It has a cheery atmosphere. The vent is properly place up the ceiling close to the stove-burner. There's an extra chimney. All the appliances are there meaning they have 4 burner stove, wide open grill and bbq, two deep fryers, 2 microwave ovens, wide stainless fridge, 2 refrigerators, a walk in fridge storage, coffee maker, cappuccino machines, blender, vegetable chopper, blender, milkshake machine, pastry oven, chopping board, industrial dishwasher and a lot more to put on the list of expectations.
Olga showed the cupboards and drawers for linens and towels. The china cabinets have variety of plates and saucers, glass and cup. China wares and silver wares plus cutleries. Her choice of dinnerware plates is awesome! Without her keeping a watch on us I looked underneath its plate and read the brand name. It's Noritake!! Wow! Japanese brand. The finest bone china. Their silver wares are made by Oneida. Oh this woman is truly amazing. She has a penchant for something extra ordinary.
Mateelda and I looked at each other and whispered, "this is what we really want for a business right?" We both nod in accordance with our taste and choice. Choice not chance while you know others would like to play poker and gamble with their own life's savings.
Rest assured that we can have the transaction in a smoother non-argumentative way, Mateelda and I decided to take a seat and relax for a while. We're both seated beside the wide window glass (double paned glass) with ocean view. Past 6 pm and the sun's about to come down at the horizon. Seconds after seconds the majestic view of sunset has finally arrived and can be seen. Behold...for that moments of awe we were star - strucked. The three of us unmoved of the hypnotic aura of sunset.
After being hypnotized, darkness has befallen at the tavern-restaurant and the owner turned the switch on of her tiffany lamp attached to the wall. Vivianne ordered icy cold fresh lemonade with lime to quench her thirst. Mateelda ordered a glass of coca cola with extra ice cubes.
I know about business and its misgivings. The glory of profit and agony of defeat. Defeat is when instead of having a profiteering business it's more of tightening the belt to make ends meet. Not that what I want but we have to invest and in investing you gain what you bargain for.
The owner hand over to us their business financial status report. The book. The record book. As I go over her book I know instantly their accountant made a good summary of everything from the biggest-smallest details. It was neat. These people knew what they are doing. They are not sloppy when it comes to business representation. They are professionals.
What I found out: In their first year of operation, their business is only on a break-even point. That could be well understood. The very first year of business is crucial. At least break even not negative. No profit. That's okay I told myself.
The second year of operation; It was surely but surely the profit started pouring in. The third year; there's enough profit to hire extra workers aside from having the whole family working in the business. The fourth year; the family business has the growth potential. So why at their fifth year of business operation they want to sell the business to others? There could be something wrong? Is there something I need to know aside from what she reasoned out to me? I'm becoming curious by the hour.
However seeing the record book - the financial record of their input and output, the whole expenditures and the profit that they incurred towards their four and a half year of fruitful business operation which made me smile. My best friend and I decided to take the risk. We'll grab this once in a lifetime opportunity.
No pain. No gain attitude. That's how we envision everything.
We ordered our dinner since Mateelda and I are both getting hungry. It's already 7 pm. My stomach's grinding inside from hunger. Mateelda ordered rib-eye steak. Angus beef. I preferred seafood fettuccine with choice of clams, mussels, prawns and the best drum wheat pasta in it. Good to the last bite.
It's not a square after all. Roof is what it needs! We both signed up the remaining papers and documents. Smiling and laughing ..... Mateelda and I screamed to our heart's desire and yelled skohl, toast and CHEERS. Our sparkling bubbly wine has reached beyond STRATOSPHERE!
